Individual selection of appropriate wood is essential in achieving the best appearance and performance. Selection of a particular species is largely matter of taset, however, the characteristics of various woods differ and for certain pieces some are more suitable than others. We spend considerable time in selecting the best available wood for each piece we make.

We try to avoid staining as this hides the figure and means that natural changes to the colour of the wood are lost.
