After a spell as an itinerant fence builder in Eire, James Verner returned to Dorset and established his studio in 1996. Since then James Verner Furniture has become synonymous with excellence and quality in contemporary furniture. The workshop creates one off pieces for individuals and design professionals.

A dedication to superlative manufacturing and a passion for indigenous English hardwoods are combined in a sustainable practice with cutting edge processes and materials to create visually rich pieces that straddle the boundary between design and art.

He has recently acquired 17 Hectares of mixed woodland which as well as providing a genuinely sustainable source of timber, is also beginning to take his work in a new direction.
